For Powell River Council

Steady when it matters.

I have lived in Powell River for 53 of my 57 years. I am a CPA with 25 years of senior leadership experience and a lifetime of community service.

Hard choices deserve straight answers.

I am running for lower property taxes, safer neighbourhoods, and a Council that hears residents before it makes significant decisions.

I am frustrated by rising taxes and by major decisions that leave residents feeling unheard. I want a change of direction: a hard look at spending, a different approach to shelters and neighbourhood safety, and a real opportunity for people to influence what happens next.

Powell River is home. It is where I built my career, raised my family, coached youth sports, and served on local boards. I will bring that experience to Council, work with staff and other governments, and be clear about what I can deliver and where I need support.

The work behind my judgment.

25 years of senior leadership

My career as a CPA and senior manager has included financial leadership, human resources, budgeting, and change management. At Catalyst Paper, I worked with a team to reduce costs and find better ways of operating. I know that useful savings start with understanding the work and listening to the people doing it.

Calm decisions when consequences are real

I was the community coroner from 2014 to 2020 and served more than 10 years as a volunteer first responder. I now work casually as an Emergency Medical Responder with BC Ambulance. My emergency-service work taught me to listen, gather facts, stay calm, and lead when people depend on me.

A long record of showing up locally

I have coached youth baseball and hockey, officiated hockey, and served on local boards. That work has kept me connected to the people who give their time to make Powell River stronger.

I will do the work before I cast the vote.

If elected, I will be one of seven votes, not the person running day-to-day operations. I will come prepared, listen to residents, and ask what each choice costs and who it affects. I will make myself available in person and online, and explain my decisions even when we disagree.

I will listen before I vote. After I vote, I will explain why.

Three places I will start.
